School of Journalism & Graphic Communication Students Selected as Inaugural Teen Vogue Campus Correspondents
FAMU SJGC Among First Program Partners

Florida A&M University’s School of Journalism & Graphic Communication (FAMU SJGC) has been selected as an inaugural campus partner for the Teen Vogue Campus Correspondents Program. The launch of the new program expands its newsrooms across the U.S. and dispatches a cohort of campus correspondents at four universities to contribute to its storytelling.

Nine students representing FAMU SJGC, Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, and Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communications will report for Teen Vogue during the 2026–2027 academic year.

FAMU SJGC journalism seniors Kennadi Gaither, of Atlanta, and Ariyel Scott, of Winter Garden, Florida, are among the promising students who will help launch the program.

As correspondents, Gaither and Scott will produce monthly written and video stories for TeenVogue.com and Teen Vogue’s social media platforms, gaining experience across a full reporting workflow. Their responsibilities include pitching ideas, conducting interviews, and editing videos. Throughout the program, they will work with Teen Vogue editors on content ranging from fashion and beauty to cultural conversations and issues affecting young people across the country.

“As the media landscape shifts both for the people who work in it and the people who consume it, the next generation is leading the charge on what it can and should look like,” said Teen Vogue Digital Director Alyssa Hardy in announcing the cohort.

SJGC Dean Mira Lowe said the partnership supports efforts to ensure students are prepared to thrive in reporting and creating across platforms.

“At SJGC, we are committed to preparing our students to produce meaningful multimedia content in today’s rapidly evolving media landscape,” said SJGC Dean Mira Lowe. “Our partnership with Teen Vogue gives them the opportunity to immerse themselves in the latest trends and demands of modern storytelling, while learning how to inform, empower, and enlighten diverse audiences through their reporting. We look forward to seeing our students excel in this cohort as they continue building the skills and confidence needed to transition into their professional careers.”

Gaither and Scott shared their excitement for the program in an interview with Teen Vogue.

“I am looking forward to covering how trends are evolving and differ in regions of the world,” Gaither told Hardy. “I love exploring new things because there’s so much to uncover and witness.”

Scott added, “I’m looking forward to covering stories about the people who aren’t in the spotlight on campus — those you pass every day but never truly know.”
